Engagement with a website

The mechanism of a backlink is essentially a vote from another website to yours - a vote that says that your website is authoritative enough or trusted enough to link to. Being listed at the top of the results not only provides the greatest amount of traffic, but also instills trust in consumers as to the worthiness and relative importance of the company or website. A great way to up your SEO in a general sense is to regularly update your site with quality long-form content. This could be in the form of a video, a podcast, or more commonly, a blog. SEO marketing can be a very powerful tool for generating massive passive traffic. But if you use it incorrectly, you’ll end up doing more harm than benefit.

Be clear, truthful and accurate

Positive reviews are an important local SEO ranking factor that improves your business visibility on Google. Google allows webmasters togeographically target certain websites or sections of your website to certain locations and regions via Google Webmaster Tools. You can find these settings by logging into your Webmaster Tools account, looking under Site Configuration, and changing your geographic targeting in the Settings tab. Search engines aren't good at completing online forms (such as a login), and thus any content contained behind them may remain hidden. Social signals may not play a direct role in ranking your site. But social shares generate more eyeballs on your content. And the more eyeballs you get, the more likely someone is to link to you.

Invest in SEO

Engagement with a website began to emerge as a ranking factor with the release of the Panda update by Google on February 23, 2011 A site’s age has an influence on that site’s ranking. A site that has been around for a long time can be seen as more reputable. Plus, it gives Google a background in determining a site’s trustworthiness. Basically, site age lets Google know your site is legit. To prepare for voice search, you need to take a good look at your current content. Ask yourself, does it answer any question a user might have? If not, change it. There is no evidence that adding a lot of content at one time can hurt a site if the content is of high quality.

How can you enhance the user experience?

The main aim of your content should still be to provide value and relevance for your target audience, but this doesn’t mean that it can’t be slightly more SEO-focused. In order for backlink checkers to exist, the entire web (i.e. billions of pages) has to be crawled, regularly re-crawled and stored in a monstrous database. The costs and challenges associated with doing this are HUGE. Any time Google opens up the vault and gives a peek inside the mountains of data it has at its disposal, marketers would do well to pay attention. Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull, had the following to say: "Content simply refers to the text on your homepage, your blog posts, videos you’ve produced, and any podcasts you’ve published. Focus on producing the best content you can – or pay someone to create it for you! Make it compelling, detailed, substantive, accurate and entertaining."

Planning is a crucial part of any SEO campaign

The true goal of SEO should be to engage customers and deliver conversions, and that cannot be accomplished with the artificial tactics used in traditional SEO campaigns. Integrate selected keywords into your website source code and existing content on designated pages. Although search engines can read text, they can’t read an image. That’s where “alt tags”, or “alternative text”, comes in. Internal SEO isn’t just about keywords anymore; it’s about creating an authentic and engaging user experience.
