Remember that quality is more important than quantity

99% of people don’t need any fancy tools or tactics. They just need to write the best content online for the topic they want to go after. No website in a competitive market gets valuable traffic from Google in 2017 without a lot of work, technical work and content curation. Does the content add an enormous amount of value or is it thin and veiled in an attempt to merely rank for a keyword? Is the content unique? You can't skimp on quality. Not today. Producing content that ranks well is clearly an important part of writing for SEO. But it’s also about turning those visitors into paying customers. Like most SEO professionals, nothing wrecks my digestive system more than an organic traffic drop with no apparent reason.

Use Google to search within a site

You’ve heard that blogging is good for SEO and maybe you even publish new posts regularly and share your posts on Twitter and Facebook. Problem is, you’re still not seeing any serious organic traffic from your blog and you’ve never managed to see a blog post rank anywhere near the heralded first page of Google search results, no matter how much you try to cram in those keywords. Where are you going wrong? There's a lot of misinformation online when it comes to SEO. It seems that over the past few years, everyone has become an 'SEO expert'. Alt attributes are the text alternatives to your image which will appear if your image fails to load, or if the user is accessing your site with an assistive device such as a screenreader. Because web crawlers don’t have eyes, they’re also what search engines “see” instead of an image, making them important for both accessibility and SEO. If you’restruggling to rank #1 for your brand name among other websites with a similar or the same name, a rebrand to a more unique name or URL might give you a better chance of getting to the top. Many details are involved in good SEO, from the words on each page, the words used in Page Titles, H tags, internal links, alt tags, image file names, on-site content and on-site content types, consistent name, address and phone number information (NAP), social signals, local signals, citations from other sites, how fast your site loads, the presence of a SSL certificate, the sites that you link to elsewhere on the Web, the websites that link to you, and the structure, code and placement of that code on your site.

Local SEO incorporates many unique ranking signals relevant to a local audience, such as, a visitor’s proximity to a physical business location or referring links from local websites. However, it works best when also optimising for a wide variety of digital marketing and SEO tactics, including content marketing, link building and social media marketing.

User experience improves with original content, quick page loading, pages that fulfill their promise and easy site navigation. Authority enhances a site’s longevity, and the quality of its backlinks plays a major role in this. If you are linking to good sites, and they are linking to you, then you gain authority. Authority sites also get indexed quicker and deeper. The mainpurpose of categories and tags are to help web visitors navigate your blogs quickly and easily, which in turn, help you get a better search ranking (if used properly). In a nutshell, categories are the table of contents for your blog, while tags are the index that helps a search engine to interpret your blog’s subject matter with ease. Building link popularity of awebsite is far more crucial than any other factors for SEO and positioning for top search engine ranking. But pay attention to who your link partners are. Are internal links as valuable as external links? There are ways to do a bulk search on a list of URLs to check if any of the pages contain a link to yours, but if you're checking this on a daily basis, it's probably just as fast to do a quick manual check. You can use some practical tools that’ll make it much easier to find keywords. You will still have to make a short list yourself (no corners to cut there), but once you have ten to twenty proper keywords, you can use several tools to find similar keywords. Using these tools will significantly speed up the process of coming up with long lists of keywords.

Make sure you have a responsive design

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant, commented: "Avoid unwieldy phrases and unnecessarily long descriptions, instead trying to say as much as possible with the smallest word count necessary." Google is getting better every day at recognizing—and rewarding—high-quality content. As defined by Google and humans, valuable content is useful, informative, better than other content on the same topic, credible, original, and engaging. Longer URLs may decrease search visibility. Use the main keyword in the URL and keep It short and simple While it's true that keyword-stuffing will be harshly penalised by Google, intelligent use of on-page tags that help potential customers to find your site remains vital; the margin between the best SEO company and the also-rans frequently lies here. Make sure the site's meta descriptions and titles include both primary and secondary keywords and are unique for each page. All images' alt text need to be keyword optimised and descriptive, without forgetting to optimise video content as well with relevant meta data. Page load speed is also a ranking factor, especially for mobile.

Remember that quality is more important than quantity

It’s important to keep in mind that if search engine traffic is your only goal, your results will probably suffer. In order to please both the search engines (who will reward you with high rankings over time) and potential customers and return visitors, you need to offer value above and beyond search engine optimization. In other words, don’t produce “thin” content that ranks and get clicks, but doesn’t provide any additional value to the search engine user. A great and fast way to convey your goal is by using headlines and taglines. Social signals may not play a direct role in ranking your site. But social shares generate more eyeballs on your content. And the more eyeballs you get, the more likely someone is to link to you. We knowthat Google will never — and we mean never ever — give any sort of detailed secrets about its search ranking algorithm. They’ve also gone back and forth on the subject since about 2010. The latest from the search engine is that social is not a factor in the ranking algorithm. So, the answer changes slightly. Canonicalizing URLs is a very important aspect of Search Engine Optimization but also of Social Media Marketing.

Too much of content

Google uses the date that a domain with which a document is registered may be used as an indication of the inception date of the document. Once you’ve discovered your evangelists, think about ways to nurture and encourage them. At the simplest (and possibly most meaningful) level, find a way to thank them for spreading the word about your company. You needto be placing backlinks to your site on other sites which not only have good domain authority, but you need to make sure your links are placed on high value pages on that domain as well. Quality is always important when producing new content, but it’s the SEO that can boost your efforts of reaching a target audience. Find a niche directory you have never heard of before that you feel is honestly listing unique, useful Web sites. Promote that niche directory through links and comments on your own sites until you see improvement in its Compete, Quantcast, and Alexa metrics.
